Season of Giving

We are just a few days away from Thanksgiving, this season known for a time of family, gracefulness and giving.  What are you grateful for?  What does family mean to you?  Most importantly, what are you giving?  All good soul searching questions I think we should be asking ourselves daily and then taking that information and doing something.  The United States was hit with some powerful storms this year, it was an awesome time of gratefulness and giving and appreciation for our loved ones.  Many people came together to help those in need, which was much needed amidst the negative spirit that lingers over this nation currently.

Well I’ll start, I’m grateful for my faith in God, as life constantly changes, He remains unchanged!  I am certainly  grateful for the many material possessions, but more importantly the loved ones I get to share them with.  Family to me, are the people God places in my life to be a part of my daily life’s challenges and celebrations.  Some are by blood, others are by love.  It is the people I can go to for a laugh, to be silly and share in my deepest moments.  Lastly how am I giving?  I hope that this post gives someone a quiet moment to stop and just be present.  To acknowledge all of God’s goodness and relish  in the love they have all around them.  But, I am also giving encouragement, charity donations and support.  Sometimes the smallest things we do can have the largest impact.  I have received some great gifts over the years, but those gifts break, stop fitting and stop meeting my current needs.  That’s why the best gifts I have received have been time spent making life long memories with those I love.  Not every gift has to cost you.  A smile or a compliment might be all someone needs to keep pushing through their day.  I hope you will take some time today and make a kind gesture that could change someone’s day.

I’ve done my soul searching for today, now why don’t you do yours, and share with a friend.  We can all use a few quiet, positive moments in our daily lives.

Living Out My Prayers 2016

Sitting on this airplane and in the airport during a delayed flight gave me lots of time to think.  I feel soooo blessed.  I have endured so much in my lifetime but even in spite of all of that God has always kept His hand on my life.  I take no credit for who I am or what I have because it has been all Him!  People have come and gone but He has always blessed me with the people I needed!  My parents would be so proud of me, I never gave up, I kept fighting and I kept living.  My goal in life is to live a life pleasing to God, be happy and enjoy those He placed in my life.  Blessed beyond measure!  I fought so hard to get to days like this!!!  I swear 2012 was supposed to take me out of here, I saw some of my darkest days in that year.  But God!  And I know if I can get through that, with God I can get through anything! 🙏🏾 #LivingOutMyPrayers2016.

Speak Positively Wednesday!

Today is all about positive vibes!  I don’t care what is going on in your life, do yourself a favor and only speak positive things.  Don’t let the temporary concerns of today cause you to speak negative situations into your future.  Be careful of the words you speak because once you put them in the atmosphere you give them life.

So what you had a crazy start to your day, wait, just before you get ready to say or post #WorstDayEver, take a second and breathe.  Say to yourself, yes my day started off crazy, but the rest of the day will get better.  That way you are putting a positive spin on the negative feelings you are having.

There are too many people out there praying for your demise, never give them leverage by joining them.  When you speak badly about yourself or your situation you make things worse.  Never make the mistake to make negative comments about yourself or your current situation.  You need to be the first person to speak great things into your life.  It may not be what you want it to be today, but take a stance and say it’s going to get better, take the actions to make it get better and watch it get better!

So I challenge you to find just one thing you feel negative about today, and reverse that feeling by posting about it in a positive way below.  Let this be a small exercise that gets you to speak positively about your life so that you can continue it in all areas of your life.

HE knows the Plan

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“ Jeremiah 29:11

I like to end my Sunday evening before going to bed with a big prayer.  I pray for my week ahead, for my family, my friends and any other specific things that touch my heart.  While I was praying this week it hit me, I’m praying for my way with total disregard for His way.  As the scripture above reads, He Knows the plan for my life, I may think I know but I have no idea!  Furthermore, what I think is good, may be totally opposite of what He knows.  God is not caught off guard by anything that happens to us.

So it made me take a step back and say, if He knows the plan, why not just tap into Him and hear His plan and act accordingly.  Because again, He already knows, we’re just sitting back taking guesses and that does us no good.  He knows what’s ahead for us and is waiting for us to submit to His will.  I think sometimes we get so busy telling God what our plans are that we forget He already knows the end of our story and if we would just listen to Him; we too will know and things will work out in our favor.

Trust Wednesday

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”

What are you trusting God for today?  That’s really an easy answer because you should trust Him for EVERYTHING!!!    He is the most dependable person in your life and the only person who will never fail you!

Today I’m trusting God for patience, peace and sleep recovery on Saturday.  It’s been a busy week and it’s only Wednesday, but my world always seems to be changing in some capacity, so if I can get those three, I can make it one more day.

I want this to be engaging, so comment back and let me know what you’re trusting God for.  I leave you with saying this, whatever you trust Him with, He will provide according to His will, just believe!

Enjoying the Moment

Life happens so fast and we miss the fun parts. Relationships change, people change, locations change, but when you wholeheartedly enjoy the moments while you're in them, when you look back you can smile at what was and move forward to what is.

Last night my night was spent between hanging with my sister and niece and with two of my friends.  One day when I’m older and life has changed these are the moments I will sit back and smile at.  The moments when I am free and able to make a change at the drop of a dime.  The moments of watching my niece grow and listen to her tell me about her day.  The moments of watching TV with my sister and chatting about it and last but not least the laughs that are shared with my friends.  These are all relationships that have had their share of craziness, but I wouldn’t change any of them.  I want to have a life that I live, not just exist in.  I live my life by going through every encounter and growing from it and becoming better.  Every moment in life is not good, but let me tell you, you can be down for as long as you want, but at some point, you better and you will get up!  My life is a living testament of that!

So do your best to live in and enjoy every moment.  When life changes and people are gone, memories will be all you have.  Learn to feel the moments and enjoy them daily!
